Sybil Industrial is the family of automated control solutions based on MPC (Model Predictive Control) technology which, drawing on a dynamic model for production plants, predicts the effects of potential future trends of variables.

The objective of Sybil Industrial solutions is to move closer to process constraints, increasing efficiency and decreasing fluctuations in the process itself.

Sybil Industrial solutions are tailor-made and can guarantee greater stability and energy savings in all situations involving complex and multivariable industrial processes.

Using a mathematical model, Sybil Industrial makes predictions about the future behaviour of the process and it is able to send prompts to the industrial system to compensate for disturbances in advance, thereby reducing the fluctuation of variables. In this way, it is possible to work within more efficient operational capacities, while maintaining the utmost respect for the system constraints provided by the client.

Steel

Sybil Steel is an advanced process control system, applied to the pre-heating process of billets and slabs before rolling, which makes it possible to obtain a saving of 7%.

The system is capable of:

  • improving combustion control
  • improving the control of zone temperature profiles inside the furnace
  • guaranteeing greater uniformity in the temperature of billets as they exit the furnace 
  • reducing the energy consumption of the furnace by 7%

Cement

Sybil Cement is an advanced process control system, applied to the clinker production process, which makes it possible to obtain a saving of 4%.

The system is capable of:

  • improving clinker quality, while also maintaining the specifications according to the target/constraints provided by the client
  • increasing performance and ensuring greater process stability (in particular, temperatures and pressures inside cyclones)
  • improving combustion control
  • improving the control of compounds in fumes
  • energetically optimising the rotary kiln, while minimising the specific consumption of coal and RDF
  • generating a saving of 4% in cost

Power

Sybil Power is an advanced process control system that optimises the management of generation units for energy production plants, which can lead to a reduction in operating costs of up to 14%.

The system is capable of:

  • dynamically balancing production and consumption
  • responding quickly to changes in demand
  • optimally balancing production methods (boilers, engines, turbines, CHP)
  • reducing discharge into the atmosphere
  • reducing the concentration of pollutants
  • complying with safety restrictions
  • respecting the required pressure and temperature constraints

When applied to district heating plants (DH), Sybil Power has the ability to communicate with Sybil CT , which is installed at the heating systems of buildings connected to the DH.

Water

Sybil Water is an advanced process control system that optimises the management of water networks and reduces water loss across the network by 15% and electricity consumption by 10%.

The system is capable of:

  • reducing the average pressure of the distribution network
  • managing pumping stations automatically and intelligently
  • respecting the process variables (pressures, levels …) and specifications (constraints, targets)

  • reducing water loss along the entire network by 15%
