An autopilot system for complex processes

It was 2012 when Giovanni Bartucci and Luca Barboni merged their ideas.
At that time, there was no talk of artificial intelligence and energy efficiency was translated into machinery and heat recovery.
Data were few and little used.

Giovanni Bartucci helped companies to reduce emissions and energy consumption.
Luca Barboni developed advanced control systems with MPC (Model Predictive Control) technology, which he applied to oil refining.
MPC is the same control system that allows aeroplanes to land.

“Would it be possible to reduce emissions and energy consumption with predictive mathematical models?”, they asked themselves.

Transferring automation from the oil and gas industry to other applications has been as complex as exciting.
Exactly like installing an aeroplane’s autopilot system on a steel rolling furnace.

Today, the mathematical models developed by Alperia Bartucci have been applied to multiple sectors and are called Sybil Solutions: artificial intelligence algorithms that, like the ancient Sibyls, predict events and adapt accordingly.
